Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the theatres across the nation have been shut down since mid-March. Now, with the permission of the Home Ministry the cinema halls are to re-open from October 15. After hearing the news, many filmmakers are gearing up to release their films on the big screen. As per the latest reports, the makers of Khaali Peeli are also all set to release the film in the theatres. The Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer will be among the first few films releasing on the big screen after the cinema halls re-open.
Adhering by the rules of the top authority, the cinema halls will have 50% seating capacity due to COVID-19 scare. However, the filmmakers are expecting large numbers of footfalls as the theatres are re-opening after almost 7 months.
For the unknown, makers of Khaali Peeli took the OTT route and released the film on Zee5. The film premiered on the digital medium on October 2. Now, the makers are gearing to release Khaali Peeli in theatres on October 16.
Apart from Khaali Peeli, a Tamil film Ka Pae Ranasingam will also release in the theatres on the same day.
Meanwhile, Khaali Peeli has already hit the big screen at few drive-in theatres in Gurugram and Bengaluru. The film has also been released in a few overseas theatres namely the United States of America, Netherlands, Fiji, New Zealand, Africa, Austria, and a few more.
The film has garnered a mix review from the masses. With nepotism storm swirling in the alleys of Bollywood, the public had allegedly decided to boycott the film.
