Kartik Aaryan- Kriti Sanon starrer action entertainer Shehzada was one of the most awaited movies of 2023. The film was scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 10, but as per latest reports, the film’s release has been postponed by a week and now it will be released on February 17.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on his Twitter account.
The makers and Kartik Aaryan arrived at this decision out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan. Shah Rukh Khan’s spy thriller Pathaan is breaking box office records in India, and according to Kartik Aaryan, it would be unfair to release it two weeks after a movie that is performing so well for the industry. And since both movies are competing for the same audiences, Kartik and Shehzada producers have opted to postpone the movie by a week out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan.
Shehzada’s producer Aman Gill confirmed this in his statement to TOI, saying, “Yes, we have postponed the film. Kartik has immense respect for Shah Rukh and we all love him. We decided that it would be best for our film if we come after a week.”
Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Shehzada is an official remake of Allu Arjun starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The Hindi remake also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala and Sachin Khedekear.
Meanwhile, Pathaan which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham is on a record breaking spree. The film has amassed over Rs. 550 crores at worldwide box office in its five day long weekend.
