Shehzada Takes A Slow Start On The Opening Day

The film has only managed to clock in Rs. 1.63 crores in three major national multiplex chains till 3 pm.

There is a lot riding on the Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon’s Shehzada’s box office collection. The expectations were already high especially after the excessive promotion and the positive response to the film’s trailer. However, looking at the early box trend till afternoon, the opening day collection is not as high as the film traders might have hoped.

According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, Kartik Aaryan’s masala entertainer has only managed to clock in Rs. 1.63 crores in three major national multiplex chains till 3 pm.

At the current rate, it might barely cross Rs. 5 crores at the Box Office.

According to a report on Ormax Media, the movie will mint Rs. 6.4 crores at the Box Office. That too is stretching it, given the current demand of the movie.

Although it’s too early to predict, but looking at such disappointing opening, it’s going to be very difficult for the film to break even with it’s budget of Rs. 65 crores. There are multiple reasons for such low opening of the film. The major reason is Shehzada has failed to impress the audience and people are missing the Kartik Aaryan charm in the movie.

Another big reason is the film’s clash with the highly anticipated Hollywood superhero film ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’. It reportedly sold over 1,06,500 tickets in advance booking while Kartik-starter managed to sell only 30, 100 tickets for it’s opening day.

Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Shehzada is a remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020) starring Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde and Tabu.
