After the grand success of the Kartik Aaryan- Kiara Advani starrer ‘Bhool Bhualiyaa 2′, the hero of the film Kartik is sure on cloud 9! With Bollywood delivering back to back flops, and with even A list actors experiencing their movies getting tanked at the box office, Kartik’s sequel was indeed a fresh breeze of air for many reasons. Despite being compared to Akshay Kumar’s part one, kudos to Kartik and the team for living up to the audiences’ expectations and riding high on success.
As you read this, the movie is all set to enter the 150 crores mark, bringing somewhat spark to the otherwise dull box office collection for previously released movies. Talking about the success of the film, “In a time like this, having delivered a 100 crore collection within the first 9 days of release alone is the most surreal feeling as an actor. I knew the film would do well, but couldn’t have imagined it like this.”
Further expressing their gratitude to the makers of the team and the audience, for showering love on the movie, he said, “I owe the success to the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, who worked on it so passionately for 3 years. Secondly, the makers who delivered their vision of this entertainer so phenomenally and most importantly, the ones who have been pouring it with so much love the audience, who accepted us with their whole hearts.”
He also revealed how he celebrated the success of the film, “My biggest celebration for the film happened on the first weekend of the release itself. I had gone to the Gaiety cinema and met the fans. I saw the Housefull board at Gaiety and it was so fulfilling. The amount of love coming from the audience has been so unreal that it only felt satisfactory when I celebrated with them. I danced with them, and asked them about the film and me,” he said.
The movie revolves around Ruhaan and Reet, who end up in the latter’s haunted haveli, getting attacked by the imprisoned spirit of ‘Manjolika’. Kiara, who plays the female counterpart in the movie, revealed about acting in a comedy flick. “Comedy is an extremely tough genre but I don’t think it gets enough credit. It doesn’t come naturally to many, some people are just gifted. Comedy with Diljit and Akshay is just so organic. They get that timing correct, which is crucial. That experience made me learn a lot because it was the first time I was doing it” she said.
“Even in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, everyone was fantastic and gifted and on top of that, when you are being directed by Anees sir, whose hold on comedy is so strong, you are in safe hands,” she continued.
