Now the latest update is that this case has been filed by Karnataka police against Kangana in Tumakuru district on Monday after the local court’s decision on the same. She has been booked on the following charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 108 (abetment), wanton vilification upon a community (153A), and international insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace (504).
The Tumakuru Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on 9th October gave instructions by telling the Karnataka police to register an official FIR on a complaint by lawyer L Ramesh Naik who stated clearly that the 21st September tweet on the actor’s Twitter handle @KanganaTeam had hurt him immensely.
The court also said that the complainant had filed an application under section 156(3) of the CrPC for wanting investigation of the same.
Kangana had tweeted a tweet on 21st September 2020 where the caption read, “People who spread misinformation and rumors about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about Farmers bill and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists. You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation”.
It was this tweet of Kangana that had hurt the lawyer L Ramesh Naik which made him file a case against the actor.
