Kareena Kapoor is gearing up for her upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha. She is also ready to make her OTT debut with director Sujoy Ghosh. Entering the digital space the 41 years old actress will be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s adaptation of Devotion of Suspect X on Netflix. The actress thinks success and stardom is of no importance currently in Bollywood.

The Jab We Met star spoke on how the digital medium has abolished the star system. She thinks OTT has spoiled the audience with options hence, in these times stardom and success don’t matter anymore. Kareena believes these days casting a big star is dosen’t make a film successful.

Kareena told PTI, “Today, the stars are on their toes. Nobody knows what’s happening and in what direction we should go. So, let’s focus on content and scripts, reading and writing better things. Then all actors are safe. If we think that we can continue to concentrate and focus on building projects on stars and their stardom, then that is not going to happen anymore. People now want to see content and that has changed and transformed amid COVID-19. People have realised that no one is God and no one can change anything.”

She added, “Today, there are no stars according to me. Everybody is an actor. There is no guarantee that tomorrow somebody’s film will take ₹50 crore opening. Success and stardom doesn’t matter (anymore). Anybody can have 50 million followers (but that) doesn’t make you the biggest star in this country, not at all. It needed to happen because there is more and different work for artist. Today, different actors are coming in who are amazing at their job.”

Kareena will be next seen in Laal Singh Chaddha along with Aamir Khan. She is confident that the movie will be a commercial success as it is emotional. Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood movie Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks.

The drama-comedy movie stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. Directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom 18, and Paramount Pictures the film is scheduled for release on 11th August.
