Filmmaker Karan Johar has been under the scanner after many celebrities who attended his party tested positive for Covid-19. Karan had hosted a small party at his residence on Dec 8 to celebrate 20 years of the cult-classic ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. It was attended by Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor.
Kareena, Amrita, Seema and Maheep have confirmed that they are Covid positive. While BMC has sealed their buildings, the media is accusing Karan Johar of hosting a party that eventually became a hotspot.
On reading such reports by media, Karan Johar took to his Instagram story to clear the air. He began the note by informing that he and his family have tested negative. Karan wrote, “My family and I and everyone at home have done their RTPCR tests and with the grace of God we are all Negative. Infact I tested twice just to be safe and I am negative. I truly appreciate the grandest efforts of the BMC to ensure the safety of our city. Salute to them.”
Further clearing the air that he hasn’t broken any protocols, Karan said, “To some members of the media, I would like to clarify that a 8 people intimate gathering is not a ‘party’ …and my home which we maintain strict protocols in is certainly no ‘hotspot’ of covid. All of us are responsible and masked at all times and no one would treat this pandemic lightly…my request to certain members of the media is to exercise some restraint in their extreme reportage without the assessment of facts! Lots of love and safety to all, Karan Johar.”
Meanwhile, the celebs who tested positive are currently under isolation and have requested people to get tested who came into their contact in the last few days.
