On Friday, the reports surfaced that Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus amidst her return from London.  Soon after the news spread, Twitter started to buzz with netizens bashing the singer because she didn’t follow the rules of self-quarantine imposed by the government and also attended a party in Luckow just days after her return from London.

After hearing all this, Kanika Kapoor who now has been isolated in a hospital in Lucknow cleared the air by thrashing away the rumors. The singer rubbished the rumors of hiding in the bathroom to skip the mandatory airport screening.

She said, “I didn’t run away from the airport, nor did I hide in a bathroom. Like everyone else, I was screened at the Mumbai airport after my arrival from London and was absolutely fine. So, the next day, I flew to Lucknow to stay with my parents.

The reports also stated that the ‘Baby Doll’ singer attended a party with over 100 people was also trashed by the singer. Clarifying the rumors, Kanika Kapoor said, “It was a small get together with 15-20 odd guests, and I did not throw any party at a five-star hotel. These are all baseless rumors.”

On the other hand, the singer’s father reportedly said that she attended three parties during her stay at Lucknow.

For the unversed, the virus has an incubation period of 14 days, this makes the diagnosis at an early stage difficult. Kapoor showed the symptoms a week after her landing in Mumbai.

She said that she tried to call the helpline number of Yogi Adityanath and there she was told that there is no need for a test, and she should call back if the symptoms get much worse. So she self-quarantined herself till yesterday before being taken away to the hospital.

Last evening in Lucknow, UP Police filed an FIR against Kanika Kapoor for violating the norms of self-quarantine.
