Kangana Ranaut Speaks Against Saroj Khan’s Controversial Statement

Kangana Ranaut mentions late choreographer Saroj Khan's controversial statement on casting couch and suggests bringing a revolution in the Bollywood industry.

Do you remember when late choreographer Saroj Khan made news for her controversial statement on casting couch in the Bollywood industry? Addressing a press conference, she had said, “Yeh chala aa raha hai Baba azam ke zamaane se. Har ladki ke upar koi na koi haath saaf karne ki koshish karta hai. Govt ke log bhi karte hain. Tum film industry ke peeche kyun pade ho? Woh kam se kam roti toh deti hai. Rape karke chhod toh nahi deti.”

Her statement had angered people back then and it is hitting the headlines once again.

In a war of words with veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, she reminded everyone of Saroj Khan’s statement where she normalized the culture of casting couch and sexual harassment at workplace.

Jaya Bachchan supports Bollywood:

Addressing Kangana’s serious accusations on Bollywood industry, Jaya said in the parliament, “Jis thaali me khaate hain usi me chched karte hain.”

She also said, “The entertainment industry in our country provides direct employment every day to five lakh people and indirect employment to five million people.”

Kangana Ranaut’s Reply To Jaya Bachchan:

In reply to Jaya’s statement, Kangana wrote on Twitter, “Like a famous choreographer once said ‘Rape kiya to kya hua, roti to di na’ is that what you implying? There are no proper HR departments in production houses where women can complain, no safety or insurances for those who risk their lives every day, no 8 hours shift regulations.”

Kangana aims to bring a revolution in the Bollywood industry. Talking about the same, she wrote in another tweet, “This mentality that gareeb ko roti mila toh that’s enough need to change, gareeb ko roti ke saath samman aur payaar bhi chahiye, I have a full list of reforms I want from centre government for workers and junior artists, some day if I meet honourable Prime Minister I will discuss.”
