Kangana Ranaut is known for her strong political opinions. The actress has now spoken about the ongoing protests across the nation after former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma made derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad. The protests also turned violent in UP’s Prayagraj and West Bengal’s Howrah on Friday. People from the Muslim community were seen pelting stones and burning effigies of Nupur Sharma.
Reacting to this, Kangana posted an image of a scene from Aamir Khan’s movie PK which allegedly made fun of Hindu God ‘Shiva’. She wrote, “This is one of the reasons why I love being a Hindu, even something so obnoxious as this doesn’t bother my Shivam…it doesn’t even disturb my spirituality or faith either. Just because a woman out of rage quoted Hadith toh poore desh ko sar pe utha liya hai, what kind of people do this…such alarming behaviour.”
In another Instagram story, she posted an image from Friday’s violent protests and wrote, “This horrifying image is not from Afghanistan…it is India, peaceful people are hanging effigies of Nupur.”
For the unaware, Nupur Sharma, who belonged to Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) commented on the Prophet during a recent TV debate. Post her statement, BJP suspended her from the party and several FIRs were also filed against her. Many Muslim majority communities condemned India after her remarks which allegedly spreads hatred and disrupt communal harmony.
