Kalki 2898 AD Advance Booking: Film To Become The 3rd Biggest Indian Opener?

As per the trade reports, Kalki 2898 AD is set to become the 3rd biggest Indian opener after "Baahubali" and "RRR".

‘Kalki 2898 AD’, featuring Prabhas, is poised to make waves at the box office. The film is anticipated to achieve unprecedented success on its opening day worldwide, potentially becoming the third-highest Indian opener globally upon its release on Thursday, June 27.

Initial trade forecasts suggest it could surpass the Rs 200 crore mark in global gross earnings. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie is hailed as a pioneering blend of science-fiction and Indian mythology, setting new standards in its genre.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is currently demonstrating strong advance booking performance. According to a report on the trade site sacnilk, the film is expected to gross between Rs 60-70 crore on its opening day in the overseas market, potentially setting a new record. Pre-sales figures are outpacing those of ‘Salaar-Part I: Ceasefire’.

This positions ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to potentially claim the third-highest opening for an Indian film ever, surpassing the Prashant Neel-directed ‘Salaar’. ‘RRR’ and ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ remain ahead on the list, with ‘Salaar’ opening at Rs 165.3 crore and ‘KGF 2’ closely behind at Rs 162.9 crore.

Given the robust anticipation surrounding ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, it is expected to achieve first-day earnings in India ranging between Rs 120-140 crore gross. Of this, approximately Rs 90-100 crore is projected from the Telugu market alone. Additionally, contributions from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are anticipated to add over Rs 15 crore gross to the opening day total, while the Hindi market is expected to contribute around Rs 20 crore gross.

Set to release in theatres on 28 June, Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. The film also stars Disha Patani in a key role.
