“Kal Shaam Meri Baat Hui..,” Anupam Kher Gets Emotional On Satish Kaushik’s Death

Anupam Kher got emotional as he talked about 48 years of friendship with the late actor Satish Kaushik.

Satish Kaushik Death: Bollywood actor and producer Satish Kaushik passed away on March 9. He suffered a heart attack while travelling in a car. His best friend Anupam Kher visited his residence to meet the grieving family and arrange for the last rites.

He also addressed the media as he gave updates and expressed his deep grief. He said, “I was sleeping when I was told about his demise at 2 am. Satish came to my house and had dinner the day before yesterday on my birthday. It is very difficult to find a friend like him. We all are still in shock. I don’t know how many years will it take to accept that he is no more with us. I first met him in July 1975. We sat on the same bench at the National School of Drama. We were together till the day before yesterday. Yesterday, we talked over call at 8 pm and he said, “Main kal aata hoon, phir milte hain (I am coming tomorrow, so we’ll meet)”.

“What can I say! Sometimes a friend is closer to you than your relatives. With a friend, you talk about things that you can’t share even with your family. No one can replace him as a friend, as an artist. I have never met as jolly person as him. He even used to laugh at his failures. He took every tragedy in good spirits. The country has lost a great human being, actor and producer. And I have lost a part of my life,” he further added.

When asked about Satish Kaushik’s funeral updates, Anupam Kher said, “His mortal remains are in Delhi. After the postmortem, he will be brought to Mumbai via air ambulance. If his remains arrive before sunset, we’ll arrange for his funeral after taking permission from his wife, daughter and elder brother.”
