Jitendra Kumar’s Journey From IIT to Bollywood

Jitendra Kumar fondly known as Jeetu Bhaiya because of his character in Kota Factory has come a long way from where he started, and this is his story from IIT to Bollywood. Read further to know more.

After alluring the audiences with his acting skills in the web series on YouTube, actor Jitendra Kumar is entering into Bollywood with a bang. Jeetu will be next seen opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in the upcoming movie, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. He will be portraying a gay character in the film.

Jitendra Kumar who earned his first recognition by playing Munna Jazbaati on TVF’s Q-tiya Intern hasn’t looked back since, keeping aside minor setbacks it has been a fruitful ride for the young actor. TVF became Jitendra’s stage and the audience sensed a connection in all the characters he essayed. The role which had an impact are- Jitendra Maheshwari in TVF Pitchers, Gittu in Permanent Roommates, and the one that stands out of them all is Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota Factory.

1.       IIT Student

Jitendra Kumar who portrayed the role of Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota Factory, himself was an IIT student. He even attended a coaching institute in Kota for the preparations of IIT. He later got admission in IIT Kharagpur and pursued a degree in Civil Engineering.

2.       Love for Acting

As a 5-year old kid Jitendra entertained his family by mimicking Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar but being a studious kid he kept this as a side hobby. After getting admission in IIT Kharagpur, the Governer of the Hindi Technology Dramatics Society noticed his love for acting and urged him to join the dramatics club.

3.       Entry into TVF

During his theatre days, Jitendra happened to bump into Biswapati Sarkar who also was a student in IIT Kharagpur. The fact about Biswapati Sarkar is that he had a connection with TVF and its founder Arunabh Kumar. Sarkar then invited Jitendra to join them in 2012. That’s how Jitendra Kumar entered into the YouTube community.

4.       The Call of Bollywood

Jitendra Kumar already had an eye for Bollywood but he was too scared to take the leap, and so he decided to stick around with YouTube series till he feels like ready for the big screen. He marked his debut in Bollywood opposite Shweta Tripathi in 2019 movie Gone Kesh. He portrayed Srijoy in the film. Jitendra happened to stumble upon the auditions for Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and he nailed the gay character of Aman in the first few trials itself.
