One of the most awaited films of 2020 has been Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey. The shoot has been going on in Chandigarh for quite some time now. However, Jersey’s shoot came to a halt Saturday due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
In the midst of the entire buzz Shahid announced that the shoot was suspended due to health scare and danger. After that, father Pankaj Kapur and the actor headed back to Mumbai. However, his fans are worried about the effect of COVID-19 on Jersey’s release date.
In a recent interview, co-producer Aman Gill emphasized that the shooting suspension due to the outbreak of Coronavirus would not impact the release of Jersey scheduled for 28th August. Gill said that 70 percent of the shoot has been completed and Shahid and the team were looking to wrap up the film by April-end.
The delay would only mean that by mid-May the film would wrap up with only 3-4 months left for Shahid’s Jersey post-production work.
Gill further said, “We were looking to wrap up by April-end but in the wake of the unfolding crisis across the globe, we have decided to suspend the shoot for a few weeks. If the situation normalizes soon, we will resume work by early next month. We’d still have three-four months for post-production after we finish filming by mid-May.”
Talking about the delay in the release of the Bollywood’s movies and their production work, the entire B-Town and the TV industry has come to stand-still owing to the Maharashtra Governments order to no shooting or entertainment events till 31st March.
