Jasleen Royal’s Top 5 Bollywood Albums

Jasleen Royal has come a long way from her reality show “India’s Got Talent” to begin the Music Director for a YashRaj movie.

Indie musician Jasleen Royal who has composed hit songs like Nachne De Saare from Baar Baar Dekho and Din Shagna Da from Phillauri, made her big debut in Bollywood in 2014, with the score for Khoobsurat. The Rani Mukerji-starrer Hichki, however, is her first outing as a solo composer.

She listed her top 5 Bollywood albums of all time and what they mean to her.

1. Guided (1965):- Composer Sachin Dev Burman, Jasleen says, it has great songs, and she has not yet found a better album than that. Some amazing songs like Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna, and her favorite Wahan Kaun Hai Tera and Kya Se Kya Ho Gaya. 

2. Dil Chahta Hai (2001):- Composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe is one of the iconic songs. And the title track, the sad song Tanhayee, the best soothing songs.

3. Saathiya (2002):- Composer A.R. Rahman, The album has got amazing lyrics by Gulzar and songs like Chalka Chalka Re, Chupke Se, Meere Yaar Mila De.

4. Rang De Basanti (2006):- Composer A.R Rahman, amazing title tracks and amazing love songs like – Tu Bin Bataayei and Luka Chuppi were her favorite songs.

5. Maachis (1996):- Composer Vishal Bhardwaj, Jasleen says while remembering watching this film in theatre thrice as her mom was crazy about this film.
