“It Felt Like A Dream, But It Wasn’t!” Krystle D’Souza Breaks Down Recalling Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sudden Demise

Krystle D’Souza recalls Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, calling it a “bad dream” which wasn't real, in the recent chat.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we all experienced a period of emotional breakdown but the shocking loss of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020 was particularly heartbreaking. His sudden demise sent shockwaves through both the film and television industries, leaving everyone in disbelief. Krystle D’Souza, Sushant’s co-actor from the TV show Kis Desh Mein Hain Meraa Dil, recently opened up about this in an emotional interview with Siddharth Kannan. She reflected on the bond they shared and her words reveal how deeply she was impacted by his passing.

When asked about her memories of Sushant, Krystle D’Souza struggled to hold back her tears, expressing, “For me, he was everything on that show. Agar vo nahi hote toh, vo show pe mazza hi nahi aata.” She recalled how Sushant played a significant role in helping her improve her Hindi. “At that time, I was still learning Hindi and he’s the one who told me, ‘Krystle, from today, we will only speak in Hindi. No more English. I want you to become better at what you do.’ He saw the potential in me and wanted me to succeed.”

Sushant’s helpful nature extended beyond language skills. Krystle shared how he supported her as both an actor and a person. “He really helped me as an actor, as a human, in so many ways. I owe a lot of my Hindi to him,” she said. On the sets, she fondly remembered how he insisted that she pronounce ‘Bhayya’ in proper Hindi rather than in her English accent. Sushant would jokingly refuse to shoot with her unless she got it right but his playful nature and support made working together an enjoyable experience. “He was a big sport, always full of a life person!” she added.

Krystle’s emotions grew heavier as she discussed the moment she heard about Sushant’s death during the pandemic. “My world shattered at that moment. I couldn’t believe it,” she recalled. At first, she thought it was a prank or a joke, as the news seemed so surreal. She shared how she called producer Ekta Kapoor, both of them in shock and disbelief, and they rushed to attend his funeral, despite restrictions. Krystle added, “Kuch samajh hi nahi aa raha tha! Sometimes it feels like a bad dream and you’re gonna wake up. But it wasn’t.”

Krystle’s memories of Sushant Singh Rajput, though few and far between as they didn’t stay in constant touch, were always filled with love. She reminisced about their occasional meetings at events and how they never missed wishing each other on their birthdays, even using nicknames like ‘Susu’ and ‘Krystu’.

Though the cause of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise still remains uncertain his loss continues to haunt his fans and industry colleagues alike, and Krystle’s heartfelt memories serve as a reminder of his enduring impact, as he remains in everyone’s hearts. As Krystle concluded, “He is always going to be in our hearts, in our minds. Wherever he is, I’m sure he’s smiling down at us.”
