‘It Ends With Us’ Author Colleen Hoover Steps Back From Instagram Amid Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Legal Drama

Bestselling author Colleen Hoover deactivates Instagram amid tensions between It Ends With Us stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, following a legal dispute over allegations of harassment and defamation.

Bestselling author Colleen Hoover, whose 2016 novel It Ends With Us was adapted into a film in 2024 has deactivated her Instagram account as tensions rise between the film’s lead actors, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The legal dispute between co-stars has captured significant public attention, leaving fans wondering about Colleen’s quiet withdrawal from social media.

The controversy began in December 2024 when Blake filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin. She alleged that the actor who also directed the film created a hostile work environment, altered intimate scenes without her consent and engaged in retaliatory behaviour. Also, Blake further claimed that Justin launched a smear campaign against her after she raised concerns. Later Justin has denied these allegations and countersued, accusing Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicist of defamation and extortion.

Initially, ‘It Ends With Us’ author Colleen Hoover had expressed her support for Blake Lively through an Instagram post and wrote, “@blakelively you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.” This message came shortly after Blake Lively’s lawsuit was filed and a New York Time article detailed alleged retaliatory tactics in Hollywood.

However, now in the weeks following the escalating legal battle fans noticed that Colleen Hoover’s Instagram account was no longer active. While she has not commented on her decision to deactivate the account, the timing has raised speculation among fans that she’s distancing herself from the controversy.

The film adaptation of It Ends With Us follows the story of a girl named Lily Bloom, which is played by Blake Lively, as she navigates an abusive relationship with Ryle Kincaid portrayed by Justin Baldoni. Released in August 2024, the movie faced mixed reviews and the co-stars lack of joint promotions further fueled rumours of tension.

Meanwhile, the legal dispute continues to unfold. Blake and Justin have asked the court to prevent Baldoni’s lawyer from making public statements, alleging harm to their reputations. Justin’s legal team has countered by releasing production footage they claim supports his innocence, though Blake’s representatives have called the footage misleading.
