Irrfan Khan’s Last Hindi Film Gets A Release Date

Irrfan Khan's last film "The Song of Scorpions" will release in theatres a day before his third death anniversary.

The audience will be soon able to watch Irrfan Khan on the big screen for one last time. “The Song of Scorpions”, Irrfan Khan’s last film has finally got a release date. The film will hit the theatres on April 28, a day before Irrfan’s third death anniversary. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter as he wrote, “IRRFAN KHAN’S LAST HINDI FILM TO RELEASE ON 28 APRIL… #IrrfanKhan’s swansong #TheSongOfScorpions [#Hindi film] will release in #India on 28 April 2023, as a salute to the great actor who passed away on 29 April 2020.”

Directed by Anup Singh, the film also features Tillotama Shome, Shashank Arora and Waheeda Rehman. Anup Singh earlier made Qissa with Irrfan.

The trailer of the film was launched on Wednesday, April 19. Irrfan Khan’s son Babil shared it on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “TRAILER OUT NOW Bringing alive a heart-wrenching tale of love, obsession and betrayal. #TheSongOfScorpions Trailer out now!”

Fans are super excited to see the film in theatres. After watching the trailer, a netizen wrote, “I got Goosebumps.”

“Last curtain call ..we are truly blessed to witness excellence again,” reads another comment.

The shooting of “The Song Of Scorpions” began in Dec 2015. It had its world premiere on the Piazza Grande at the 70th Locarno Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland on August 9, 2017. And now, the film is releasing in theatres in India on April 28.
