With the first season’s success, the Karan Johar produced show is now ramping up its production for the sophomore season, with the shoot being wrapped in February 2022. For the unversed, the reality series is on the similar lines to ‘Real Housewives’ released in 2018. This Indian reality series available to stream on Netflix, focuses on the personal and professional lives of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey and Seema Khan, wives of popular Bollywood actors Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor, Chunky Pandey and Sohail Khan.

Recently in an interview, Karan Johar revealed how the idea of the show was birthed, in the most random-est of ways. Talking to the host about the success of the show, Karan shared he thought of making a reality series after listening to the conversation of the 4 leading ladies of the show, at a funeral. Karan discussed how while paying condolences at someone’s funeral, he heard the interesting conversation of Maheep and her friends, and found it so entertaining that he instantly thought of making a show out of it.

“And it was the most bizarre conversation that happened between the four of them and me they started talking about one of them feeling overdressed because everybody was in various shades of white,” said Karan, recalling the incident that led to the making of the series.

“So I think it was Maheep who told Neelam that why you worrying so much badla-work like we’re going for a funeral and she said but you know we’re going to someone’s house and then Maheep said I’ve got removed all my jewellery and you know because we’re going like to show now in order and then they all started discussing are my shoes too flashy is my kurta and we’re actually going because someone is dead and we’re going to actually offer our condolences but suddenly the conversation became about the four of them and what they were wearing and why somebody felt underdressed somebody felt overdressed” Karan added.

“And in my head, I said this is a show and I told them out loud I said listen I think can actually conceive and conceptualize a show around the four of you and they were like yeah right whatever but when I got back home post the condolence visit I actually called up my creative team Anisha, who heads our non-fiction department and we made a show of it and it’s already out there we have season two coming up” he shared.
