Vidyut Jammwal unveiled the first poster and teaser for his upcoming film IB 71 on his social media accounts on Saturday. Directed by Sankalp Reddy, the spy thriller also stars Anupam Kher and Vishal Jethwa. IB 71 is set during the War of 1971 and will hit theaters on May 12th.

In the preview, Vidyut is shown planning India’s “top secret mission” against Pakistan, which won India the 1971 war. Anupam Kher warns him that his plan is elusive and nothing short of a suicide squad. The plan calls for some Indian intelligence officers to become regular passengers for the undercover mission. The rest of the details will become clearer when the trailer comes out.

The official YouTube teaser describes the film as “IB 71, marks Vidyut Jammwal’s first film as a producer with his production company: Action Hero Films, along with Reliance Entertainment and T-Series and directed by national award winner Sankalp Reddy is a story about 3 Nations, 30 agents, 10 days and 1 TOP SECRET MISSION”.

The actor, who directed the action-packed Commando trilogy, said in a statement to ANI, “IB 71 speaks for the first time about how the Indian Intelligence Office conducted a secret mission and outwitted the enemy that gave our military the Sharpness required to face a war on two fronts. I’m excited to bring this project to life and share it with the world!”
Director Sankalp also told the agency: “Working on IB 71 was absolutely exciting for me. From the start, I was drawn to the film’s intriguing premise and opportunity to explore the world of covert ops. I can. Don’t wait for the public to experience the world of IB 71.”
