Hrithik Roshan Starrer Super 30 To Release In China?

Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 is expected to release in China after the return of normalcy. Read below to know more.

Hrithik Roshan had a splendid 2019 with two of his films- War and Super 30 getting a good response from the audience. Both of the films performed well at the Box Office and also received good reviews from the critics.

Talking about Super 30, the film in itself was a success story. The film was based on the life of a mathematician from Patna named Anand Kumar. Although there was a bit of negativity surrounding the film over Hrithik’s casting, later the actor shut down all the critics with his credible performance. The movie enjoyed a tremendous word of mouth and ended up earning Rs. 149.94 crore at the domestic Box Office.

However, in the past few years, China has emerged as a lucrative market for several Bollywood movies like Dangal, Secret Superstar, Hichki and many more. These films have done a record-breaking business at the Chinese Box Office.

Meanwhile, considering the taste of the moviegoers in China, Super 30 seems like an ideal film for release in our neighboring country. There is currently no update about the same but speculations are making rounds.

Also, all the releases in China were halted just like in India due to the sudden novel coronavirus outbreak. As of now, China is slowly getting back to normalcy and the cinema halls and theatres are gradually being opened up across the country.

But if we believe the sources, Super 30 might have to pass through a censorship test before getting released in China. As the film industry in China opens up, Super 30 will first get censored.

A source close to the film revealed, “The people of China love such human underdog stories with the backdrop of education. Some of our Indian films like 3 Idiots, Hichki, and Hindi Medium, etc. worked big time there with the audiences. Super 30, hence, is an ideal film for its audiences. In fact, if things go well, it can be one of the first big hits in the Chinese market post lockdown.”

Fun fact is Hrithik had visited China to promote his 2017 thriller film Kabil. At that time Super 30 was one month away from its release and Hrithik had told the audience that Super 30 is something which is he looking forward to as it talks about power and the value of education and teachers.

He further added, “I think that is another place where I think there is a similarity between China and India as both these countries give a lot of respect to teachers. The teachers form the top of the societal chain in both these worlds.”
