There is a trend going on in Bollywood of making movies based on the lives of sportspersons. From Mary Kom to upcoming ’83, the B-town is churning content for the sports-drama films. Meanwhile, the B-Town is buzzing with news that Sourav Ganguly will be collaborating with filmmaker Karan Johar for a biopic on his life.
Long back the former cricketer mentioned that if ever a biopic made on his life he wants Hrithik Roshan to play the lead. Sources have revealed that a couple of meetings have already been held between Sourav Ganguly and Karan Johar for the same. Going into further details, the sources also added that the team is currently looking for the lead actor.
Prior to this buzz, there was a news that Ekta Kapoor is going to helm a biopic on Dada’s life. The former India skipper had also said, “Is it, Ekta Kapoor? Then yes, she approached me and we talked about it once. Nothing went further than that. I never thought of a biopic on my life though there are ample sports biopics made. If there is time, then someone will make one on me. Hope people would be interested in seeing the film.”
If Hrithik Roshan gets cast as the lead for Sourav Ganguly’s biopic then it will be a treat for both of their fans and surely the theatres will be flocked to witness this sports-drama.
On the work front, Hrithik Roshan was last seen in War. The film was a blockbuster hit of 2019. Recently Hrithik also won the Best Actor award at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards for his credible role in Super 30.
