Actor Hrithik Roshan’s maternal grandmother Padma Rani Om Prakash died at the age of 91. She was the wife of late film producer J Om Prakash. She passed away due to age-related illnesses and she has been battling them for some time now. Nani of the Bollywood actor took her last breath on Thursday, June 16. The unfortunate news was confirmed by a source close to Hrithik Roshan’s team.
Actor turned film producer and director Rakesh Roshan spoke about the demise of his mother-in-law. “Unfortunately the news is true. Om Shanti,” said the director of ‘Koi… Mil Gaya’.
For the last two years, she was staying with her daughter Pinkie Roshan and the Roshan family due to deteriorated health. Hrithik’s mother Pinkie Roshan took to her Instagram account to mourn the death of her mother. She uploaded a picture of her late mother and penned an emotional note. The caption read: “My mother Padma rani Omprakash left us for her onward journey to reunite with daddy..love peace gratitude.”
In the memory of Hrithik’s grandmother (Nani), the actor’s mother shared another post that displayed photo frames of her parents J Om Prakash and Padma Rani Om Prakash. She wrote with a heavy heart: “Both are together in harmony and peace my mother, my father..love you both forever.”
Reports confirm that Padma Rani Om Prakash wife of J Om Prakash died due to age-related ailments. The Filmmaker passed away in August 2019 at the age of 93. He was known for making superhit films like Aap Ki Kasam, Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Ayee Milan Ki Bela.
After learning about the demise netizens showered their prayers and condolences to the family. A netizen commented: “Sending lots of love to you and your family..may ganpati bappa bless her soul.” Another wrote: “Om shanti”.
Rakesh Roshan commented on her wife’s heartfelt post: “Going to miss her, Om Shanti”. Sara Afreen Khan wrote: “My deepest condolences Pinkie. May her soul rest in peace.” Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani dropped folded hand emojis as a gratitude towards the late soul.
