The holy festival Kumbh Mela which was held in Haridwar this year became a serious topic of discussion amid the rising cases of Covid-19. While there are many religious sentiments attached to it, it is feared that it may be contributing to the rapid rise of Covid cases. The pictures and videos from Kumbh have been quite shocking, keeping in mind how important social distancing is!
Many Bollywood celebs have also expressed their concern over the same.
Singer Shaan tweeted, “Why would God save us? If we are just not interested in saving ourselves and our families?”
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma thrashed the political leaders for allowing Kumbh. He wrote on Twitter, “If a common man can be fined Rs 1000 for not wearing mask, how much should the Uttarakhand CM and others be fined for facilitating Kumbh Mela?”
He further wrote, “The Kumbh Mela and political rallies clearly prove that the politicians care only about Votes and not about people…in other words, they don’t care about people dying once they cast their votes..So Intelligent..no?
Malaika Arora also shared a picture from kumbh and wrote, “It’s a pandemic but this…. #shockinggggg.”
Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan took to Twitter and wrote, “Not sure if I’m more traumatized by videos of the Kumbh and election rallies or by COVID. I think it’s the former ….”
