Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha is receiving mixed responses from American citizens. A few of them wrote how they don’t want any compromise with the all-time classic movie.

Check out a few comments:

“Sorry, but no need to ruin a perfectly fine film. You can’t duplicate an iconic motion picture. It’s iconic for a reason.”

“Nothing will ever top the original.”

“There’s only one Forrest Gump, no matter how many remakes there are…”

“Somethings are better left untouched and appreciated.”

“Will never be as good as the original and no actor will do as good as job as Tom Hanks.”

“Be creative and make your own! Quit remaking these! Never be better than an original!!!”

However, some Americans have also expressed their excitement over the Hindi remake.

“I think a lot of people here are just negatively reacting to the word “remake”. It’s more like taking the premise and applying it to another country/culture. I’ve often wondered what an updated version of Forrest Gump might include.”

“If there is one person in Bollywood I would trust to not mess this up is Amir Khan.”

“I am sure this will be a faithful and engaging remake.”

“Actually I’m looking forward to it!”

“Wow, I hope it will be good! And you could probably learn a lot about Indian history from it.”

“With the amount of amazing US films that have remade foreign projects, I have high hopes for this. Keep in mind, the target audience is NOT US citizens. What a great film to adapt to another culture. Ideally Vietnam war, etc is replaced with an equivalent event from Indian history.”
