Vipin Reshammiya, the father of Indian singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya and a renowned music director, has passed away. Himesh’s father passed away on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at the age of 87. Vipin’s funeral is scheduled to take place on September 19 in Juhu, according to a TOI report.

Vipin Reshammiya, the father of singer Himesh Reshammiya and a respected music director, passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 87. According to reports, he breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. His mortal remains will be brought home, with the last rites scheduled for September 19, 2024, at a crematorium in Juhu.
Reports indicate that Vipin Reshammiya had been unwell for an extended period, grappling with health issues related to his age. He experienced breathing difficulties, which led to his urgent admission to the hospital, where he ultimately passed away. However, the exact timing of his hospital admission remains unknown.
The news of his passing was confirmed to the portal by the family’s close friend, Vanita Thapar. She revealed, “Yes, he had a breathing problem. He was in Kokilaben and passed away today at 8.30 pm.” Vanita added, “I am a family friend, more like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director, and then Himesh followed in his footsteps. We share a very close bond. Anup Singh, the numerologist, and I were also very close to him,”

Vipin Reshammiya was a well-known music composer who collaborated with legendary artists such as RD Burman, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and Shankar Jaikishan. Additionally, he produced the film Insaaf Ki Jung in 1987. When Himesh Reshammiya was just 11, his elder brother passed away, prompting him to pursue a music career to honor his father’s wishes. Vipin Reshammiya recognized Himesh’s talent early on and chose to mentor him, setting aside his own ambitions.
Himesh later produced films under HR Musik Limited alongside his father. Their collaboration led to Himesh meeting Salman Khan, who was impressed by his skills and offered him a composing role for Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya. This opportunity marked a turning point in Himesh’s career, leading to his rise in the industry through hit songs for Salman’s films.
