Her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in June and she was arrested by NCB during the investigation. Rhea spent one month in jail before she was granted bail by the court after no hard evidence was found against her. Since then, Rhea has not confronted the media, nor is she active on social media.

The film’s director Rumi Jaffrey recently met Rhea to know about her well-being. Sharing her current status with a leading daily, Rumi told, “I met her recently. She was withdrawn and quiet. Didn’t speak much. Can’t blame her after what she has gone through. Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say.”
He also said that Rhea may resume her work in a few months.
Rumi said, “It has been a traumatic year for her. Of course, the year was bad for everyone. But in her case, it was trauma on another level. Can you imagine any girl from a well-to-do middle-class family spending a month in jail? It has crushed her morale completely.”
