Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi Is The Next Target Of Boycott Bollywood Brigade

The 'boycott brigade' has started trolling and raising questions over Heeramandi for glorifying prostitution.

One wished that after the blockbuster success of Pathaan, this Boycott Bollywood brigade would have finally learnt it’s lesson and had decided to take a step back, but alas! we were too optimistic. This manufactured Boycott Bollywood Brigade and trolling armies have found a new ‘prey’ to run their business, at least for few more days and that ‘prey’ Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming web series Heeramandi.

The makers dropped the first look of SLB’s first global drama Heeramandi on February 18, which features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal as dazzlingly gorgeous courtesans. Set in 1940’s pre-partition Indian town, Heeramandi,  Heeramandi promises Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s signature style of larger-than-life stories, during India’s most struggling period.

The first look is receiving positive response from large section of audience but certain section of netizen has started their usual trolling. The ‘boycott brigade’ has started trolling and raising questions over Heeramandi for glorifying prostitution.

Another allegation this boycott brigade has put on SLB is of his constant obsession with courtesans in his films. From Devdas, Saawariya, and his last directorial venture ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, courtesans play an important role and certain section of netizens have started to point out this. But despite facing all this trolling Gangubai Kathiawadi turned out huge hit at the box office and one wish Heeramandi also turns out to be yet another game changer for Bhansali.
