After the winners of the Filmfare OTT Awards 2020 were declared, fans got irked and angry since Scam 1992 didn’t win any award even after being the most successful and critically acclaimed webseries of the year 2020 and then they started trolling Filmfare on social media, now post all this, Hansal opens up on Scam 1992’s no win at OTT awards.

Scam 1992, which made the lead actor Pratik Gandhi a nationwide star where his portrayal of Harshad Mehta was loved and lauded by audiences and netizens so much that he ended up creating a permanent niche for himself in hearts of audiences and also grew his fanbase on social media platforms. But sadly it didn’t win any award, and after all this, during a recent interview, noted director Hansal opens up on Scam 1992’s no win at OTT awards.

Unhappy and disappointed with the nominations, one Twitter user in his tweet had written, “Once again @filmfare doesn’t recognise and appreciate the real talent But this time in OTT platform. No awards for Scam 1992 the Harshad Mehta story. Scam 1992 which wins everybody’s heart you are above this”.

While fans kept on bashing and lashing out at filmfare by incessantly snubbing them on social media, Hansal Mehta also took to his Twitter handle and replied to the mentioned tweet saying that Scam 1992 was released after the cut-off date for this year’s OTT awards.

After seeing so many tweets lauding and raving about the series thereby mocking filmfare, Hansal feeling over whelmed wrote a twitter tweet which read, “Seeing many tweets echoing similar sentiments. #Scam1992 was released much after the cutoff date for this year’s #FilmfareOTTAwards. Hence it was not eligible for nomination. Our biggest award is the love we continue to receive from you”.

He continued, and in another tweet also wrote that, “The awards ceremony was dignified and as safe as possible. Fantastic nominees, each deserving an award. And absolutely deserving winners. These awards were a much needed celebration of genuine talent. So heartwarming to witness”.
