Gorkha Poster: Ex-Army Officer Slams ‘Akshay Kumar IT Cell’ For Abusing Him

A retired Army officer called out 'Akshay Kumar IT Cell' for trolling him after he pointed out a mistake in Gorkha poster.

On October 15, Akshay Kumar shared the poster of his upcoming film ‘Gorkha’ which is based on a legendary army officer. Sharing the details of the film, Akshay wrote on his social media, “Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha – on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Honoured to essay the role of an icon and present this special film.”

However, an ex-Gorkha officer pointed out a mistake in Gorkha poster and immediately brought it to Akshay Kumar’s attention. Mentioning Akshay in a tweet, retired Major Manik M Jolly wrote, “Dear @akshaykumar ji, as an ex Gorkha officer, my thanks to you for making this movie. However, details matter. Kindly get the Khukri right. The sharp edge is on the other side. It is not a sword. Khukri strikes from inner side of blade. Ref pic of Khukri att. Thanks.”

However, Akshay Kumar’s fans began trolling the retired army officer for pointing out the mistake. The officer called out ‘Akshay Kumar’s IT Cell’ for all the trolling and abuses. He said, “Dear @akshaykumar IT Cell – did you guys check with him if you should abuse Gorkha officer or not? Coz maybe you don’t know how stubborn and fearless we are. We don’t get troubled by these 1.25 Rs tweets ? Getting replies from same accounts How obvious! #BestMoviePromotionEver.”

Replying to one of the trolls, Major wrote, “You’re telling a Gurkha officer to not say something for fear of Akshay Kumar’s fans sending hate messages because he is playing a brave Gurkha officer in his movie.”

Later, Akshay Kumar came forward and thanked the officer for giving his suggestions. He wrote, “Dear Maj Jolly, thank you so much for pointing this out. We’ll take utmost care while filming. I’m very proud and honoured to be making Gorkha. Any suggestions to get it closest to reality would be most appreciated.”

To this, Major Jolly replied, “Thanks for your kind and respectful reply Akshay Kumar ji. Uniform is very close to our hearts. My aim of pointing out was only to ensure that everything is perfect for your movie. Thanks again for making Gorkha and my best wishes. Look forward to seeing it. Jai Hind.”

Meanwhile, Gorkha will be helmed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. It is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
