Get Over Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan Because Yami Gautam Has Taken Over Our Screens

While Deepika Padukone's film 'Gehraiyaan' created all the hype, it's Yami Gautam who stole the show!

Deepika Padukone and her film ‘Gehraiyaan’ created a lot of buzz for a really long time. But all the wait and hype was in vain as the film was a major disappointment. It didn’t take time for the film to become a target of memes on social media. Fans were just happy about the fact that the film wasn’t released in theatres and they didn’t have to regret wasting time and money in cinemas.

While Gehraiyaan turned out to be a disappointing OTT release, Yami Gautam took us by surprise in the film ‘A Thursday’. Released on Disney+Hotstar, ‘A Thursday’ is a gripping thriller starring Yami Gautam, Neha Dhupia, Dimple Kapadia and Atul Kulkarni in the leading roles.

Yami plays the role of a playschool teacher who holds 16 kids her hostages and puts a series of demands that shakes the entire nation. Right from the beginning, Yami Gautam manages to steal our attention. From her cute smile, as she plays with kids, to the look that makes us wonder if she is a psychopath, Yami manages to make us a part of her story. It’s not the first time, Yami has played a fierce role. When she played the character of an intelligence officer in Uri: The Surgical Strike’, we knew that she is much more than a pretty face. And with her latest release, she has proved once again that she can carry an entire film on her shoulders, all by herself.

At one moment, she is lovingly handling the kids and the next moment, she is firing shots at the police stationed outside. The sudden change in her actions and expressions every few minutes makes us respect her as an actor.

Neha looks convincing as a cop while Dimple Kapadia plays the Prime Minister who puts emotions above her security and elections. Atul Kulkarni is seen as an experienced encounter specialist who doesn’t shy away from shedding a tear when needed.

We couldn’t have asked for a better casting than this! If you haven’t watched ‘A Thursday’ yet, you are missing out on a great watch!
