Genelia D’Souza Making A Comeback With Riteish Deshmukh Directorial Debut Marathi FIlm Ved

Finally, Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh are reuniting for a film together. Yesterday the couple announced their upcoming Marathi film. They dropped their first from the film titled Ved on the occasion of Diwali New Year. This marks the actress’s official debut in Marathi films as well as Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut.

Sharing the posters, Genelia wrote in Marathi, “I was born in Maharashtra. After I started acting, I did films in different languages like Hindi-Tamil-Telugu. I got immense love from the audience there. I am making my Marathi film debut with Riteish’s first directorial venture. Working in Marathi, I feel like I have come full circle.”

She further added, “I am sure you will love me as much in Marathi too. Happy Diwali Padwa. Here is the first look of our mad movie.” As soon as she unveiled the poster her friends and fans congratulated her. Maniesh Paul commented, “I’m soooooo looking forward to this!” Paritosh Tripathi commented “Zabardust”

Riteish Deshmukh too shared the poster on his official Instagram account writing the caption in Marathi. In the poster, Genelia looked a quintessential Indian girl while Riteish is seen in a rugged look holding a cigarette. The duo’s close friend and actor Ashish Chowdhry wrote, “Genieeeee.. You. Are. The. Most. Beautiful. Girl. I. Know.❤️❤️❤️?? And i just know that nobody will capture you the way your husband will.. He is a human depiction of ART. And I can’t wait to see how he’s filmed this, YOU specially❤️”

Apart from Ved, Genelia is all set to return to Bollywood and the South film industry. She will appear in the Bollywood film Mister Mummy backed by Bhushan Kumar. Again in this upcoming film, she will share the screen with her husband Riteish Deshmukh. She also has a Telugu-Kannada film, Production No.15 in the kitty. 

On the other hand, Deshmukh will direct a film for the first time. The Marathi film Ved is scheduled to release in theatres on 30th December. Riteish was last seen in Ek Villain Returns and Netflix’s Plan A Plan B. He has Housefull 5 in the pipeline expected to release in 2023.
