Bollywood’s versatile actress Raveena Tandon was one of the most sought-after actresses of her time. Known for her acting and beauty, the actress recalled some things from her time in the industry. Raveena revealed a time when she was called arrogant by a filmmaker during the 1990s for setting conditions regarding some scenes that made her uncomfortable. And because of that, she eventually lost several successful films.
In an interview with ANI, Raveena spoke about having boundaries while shooting movies. Speaking about her condition, she denied wearing any swimsuit, any uncomfortable dance steps, or any kissing scenes, and she was the only person who wore all her clothes during the rape scenes while shooting.
As stated by Indian Express, the Dilwale actress said, “I used to be uncomfortable with a lot of things. For example, dance steps. If I was uncomfortable with something, I would say, ‘Listen I am not comfortable with this step. I would not do the step.’ I didn’t want to wear swimming costumes, and I didn’t do kissing scenes. So I had my fundas. I was the only actress who had a couple of rape scenes with not even one tear in the dress. All my clothes used to be fully intact.”
She added, “Mera dress phatega nahi… tum karlo rape scene agar karna hai. So they used to call me arrogant.”
She also talks about losing many projects because of a condition like Darr and Prem Qaidi. Raveena said, “Darr had come to me first, though it was not vulgar, earlier there were some scenes in Darr, I was not comfortable with. I never used to wear a swimming costume. I would say, ‘No, I will not wear a swimming costume’. Even Prem Qaidi, the first film with which I think Lolo (Karisma Kapoor) got launched was actually offered to me first. But even in that, there was just one scene where the hero pulls down the zipper and the strap is showing, I was uncomfortable with that.”
On the professional front, Raveena Tandon was last seen in Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2. She will next be seen in Ghudchadi, the romantic drama that will also star Sanjay Dutt.
