Farhan Akhtar And Fawad Khan Join Marvel Universe With Ms Marvel

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan are also set to make their Hollywood debut with Ms Marvel.

MS Marvel is the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set to present Pakistani-Canadian actor Iman Vellani as MS Marvel. She is joined by Mohan Kapur, Zenobia Shroff, and Indian-American actor Saagar Shaikh. With Ms Marvel, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan are also set to make their Hollywood debut.

Marvel Cinematic Universe is diversifying its superhero line-up. It is introducing its first-ever Pakistani female superhero–Kamala Khan aka MS Marvel, played by Pakistani Canadian actor Iman Vellani. Apart from the main cast, Farhan Akhtar and Fawad Khan are said to have smaller screen time. Both of the well-known actors of Bollywood are noted to make their Hollywood and Marvel debut but as a cameo. This new Marvel series titled MS Marvel will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from June 8.

The two actors have a large fan base in India and Pakistan and their presence in the series will attract a lot of attention to this new Marvel show. However, they are noted to play pivotal cameo roles as they are not included in the main cast. Since the lead is from Pakistan the main cast is also roped from the sub-continent.

Despite of getting a smaller role, Farhan Akhtar and Fawad Khan are highly talked for being a part of the Marvel Universe. Mohan Kapur, who will play the role of Iman’s father, spoke about the presence of these popular actors, “They are stars. Just on hearing their names, the audience goes to buy tickets. They have earned that. We are making their mark. They are actually helping us.”

He believes their name associated with the show is enough. Mohan also conversed about their role in the series, “When we heard that Fawad and Farhan are doing it (the show), we were so excited. Imagine the flip the show is going to get in South Asia and world over, because they have fans all over. It’s a huge thing. It’s very small if you start thinking ‘I am in more episodes, so why are they talking about them’. That’s a very small way of thinking. They propped us up.”

Ms Marvel is six episodic show scheduled to premier on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. MCU fans can watch the latest entrant in the Marvel Universe from June 8th. The series will serve as a set-up for the film The Marvels (2023), in which Vellani will reprise her role as Khan.
