Shah Rukh Khan announced the teaser of his upcoming film ‘Jawan’. It came as a big surprise from the Badshah of Bollywood because any information about the film was unknown. Jawan adds up to the list of Khan’s 2 big anticipated films. In the last six months, Jawan is the third big film announcement after Pathaan and Dunki. Fans have been fascinated with Shah Rukh’s new look as the actor dropped the ‘Jawan’ teaser and unveiled the first look of the film.
Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in and as ‘Jawan’, highly anticipated as the biggest action entertainer. Red Chillies Entertainment announced the teaser of Jawan on June 3rd, 2020, exactly a year before its scheduled release. The teaser is 1min 31 sec long, wherein we see the superstar’s face is wrapped in bandages and he is hardly noticed. Fans were stunned and astonished to see Shah in this look while some noticed a similarity to that of a 1990’s Hollywood film.
Many compared Shah Rukh Khan’s bandaged look with Liam Neeson’s look in the 1990 superhero film ‘Darkman’. The Hollywood film is helmed by Sam Raimi and stars Liam Neeson in the lead. Here are some tweets that draw comparisons between the looks of Jawan and Darkman. Several fans shared pictures of Shah Rukh in Jawan and Liam in Darkman, commenting how identical they looked.
The Raees actor uploaded the teaser video on social media and captioned it: “An action-packed 2023!!- Bringing #Jawan to you, an explosive entertainer in cinemas 2nd June 2023. In Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.”
Shah Rukh Khan uploaded the teaser on Twitter, just below that a fan tweeted: “Shah rukh Ji… Haven’t seen Darkman 1990 Hollywood movie? Neeson getup.” Another commented, “SRK’s look from Jawan is like Sam Raimi’s Darkman and The Hush from DC comics.”
Another criticized the Bollywood movies for remakes saying: “ek aur Copy #Jawan #Darkman sure they’ll alter the plot story somewhat in the middle with #Bollywood tadka, mirch masala, romance & Item song #SRK but the overall shape would be #copycat #BollywoodCopy.”
Meanwhile, announcing the film the superstar gave movie credits to director Atlee. He said: “Credit goes to Atlee for creating this unique film, which has also been a fantastic experience for me as I love action films! The teaser is the just tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what’s to come.”
The highly anticipated film stars Shah Rukh Khan and is presented by his own production house – Red Chilies Entertainment. The biggest action entertainer is helmed by director Atlee Kumar. The movie is slated to release on 2nd June 2023 across five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
