Exclusive: Liger Actor Atul Parchure Reacts To Boycott Trend

Vijay Deverakonda's Liger co-star Atul Parchure reacts to the boycott trend ahead of the film's release.

Hindi films have been failing miserably at the box office this year. Some mega-budget films like Samrat Prithviraj, Shamshera and Laal Singh Chaddha turned out to be some major disasters. The boycott trend has taken over the Internet lately where the netizens are boycotting every release for one reason or the other. Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Liger has also become a victim of the boycott trend. People are rejecting the film as it is backed by Karan Johar. However, those involved in the project have complete faith in it. Vijay has already mentioned that he is unaffected by these online trends and has no fear. Meanwhile, his Liger-co-star Atul Parchure has also given a similar reaction.

During an exclusive chat, we asked if the industry has failed to understand the audience’s sentiments and needs rectification. To this, he said, “I am too small to say if the industry is going wrong altogether. There are several leading personalities in the industry who must be already thinking of the ways ahead. I don’t think that the industry is going wrong as a whole. Sometimes there are a few films that the audience doesn’t like, but tomorrow there will be a few films that the audience would go and watch and then we’ll think that everything is fine. So that phase is always there. Sometimes you get success and sometimes you are not so successful. I am sure good films will be made and people will watch them.”

He then added, “It is just a temporary phase. I fully believe in the industry and I believe that cinema will always prevail.”

Showing full faith in their film, Atul said, “It will definitely be a blockbuster. Several recent releases have not worked at the box office, so this must work by the law of record also.”

Liger is a sports action film directed by Puri Jagannadh. It has been shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. The film features Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday with a special cameo of American boxer Mike Tyson. The film is releasing in theatres on August 25.
