In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Karishma Sharma talks about her new song 'Barsaat Ki Dhun' sung by Jubin Nautiyal.

This monsoon season, T-Series has launched a beautiful romantic track titled ‘Barsaat Ki Dhun’ sung by Jubin Nautiyal. The video features Gurmeet Choudhary and Karishma Sharma as they indulge in some hot romance in the rain. The song crossed 18 million views in 24 hours of its release. On receiving a positive response, actor Karishma Sharma says “I am super happy. It’s unbelievable how well the song is doing. I had an intuition that it would do well but I didn’t know that the response would be so good. I am really happy with how the audience is reacting. Everyone is loving Barsaat Ki Dhun. I am sure it is going to cross 100 million views very soon.”

The audience is loving the hot chemistry between Gurmeet Choudhary and Karishma Sharma. Commenting on the same, Karishma says, “I agree, everyone is loving our chemistry. Gurmeet is a very good co-actor to work with. I have worked with a lot of actors, but he was a blessing because it may get difficult to dance in a saree while it is raining. But when you have a good co-actor, it makes a big difference. So, it was great working with him.”

For the unaware, Junbin Nautiyal’s Barsaat Ki Dhun is a rehashed version of Kumar Sanu’s ‘Sun Sun Barsat Ki Dhun’. When asked if she felt nervous or under pressure while recreating an old classic, Karisma said, “Yes, I was very nervous when the song was releasing. I was biting my nails and thinking how people would react. So, there was a lot of pressure but I think that it has come out really well.”

Speaking about Jubin Nautiyal, Karishma says, “I am a fan of his voice. When you love someone’s art so much, you want to collaborate with them. And when it happens, it feels so good. It was a lot of fun to work with him.”

The song was shot at the scenic beauty of Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra. When asked about her experience of shooting the song, she said, “It is an unexplored location. People generally shoot in Lonavala. I enjoyed a lot while shooting there because the weather was so pleasant. It felt like a 5-day vacation even though we were working.”

Karishma is happy to associate with T-Series. She says, “It was a big thing for me. I thank Bhushan Sir for giving me this opportunity and believing in me to do such an iconic song. I think I am just blessed this year. People are loving my work. I am doing more work with T-Series. You guys will know about it very soon.

Karishma says that of all the seasons, she loves monsoon. She enjoys having Chai and Pakoda while it is raining. She mentioned that ‘Mitti Ki Khusbhoo’ (smell of the soil) is very different in India in comparison to other countries. “I love rains in my country because the smell here is so different,” the actress says.
