Actor model Milind Soman joined Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency as Sam Manekshaw. After Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhary, he is the latest to join the film. The first look of Milind Soman as Sam Manekshaw from Emergency was unveiled today. The period drama film is billed as the story of a watershed moment in the political history of India, “Emergency”.
Milind Soman will play the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Kangana Ranaut who is the director of the film will play the lead role of Indira Gandhi. The Dhakad actress shared the look of Milind Soman in Emergency on her Instagram account. She captioned the picture, “Presenting the dynamic @milindrunning as #SamManekshaw, the man instrumental for saving India’s frontiers during the Indo-Pak war and whose service was as distinguished as his honesty; a charmer, a war hero and a visionary leader in #Emergency.”
During the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, Manekshaw was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army. He was also the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. Milian Soman is honored to be a part of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency. Sharing his look from the film he captioned the post, “Honoured to be a part of @kanganaranaut ‘s directorial #Emergency and play the role of Sam Manekshaw, the man who, with his wit and gallantry, led India to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war!”
Until now Kangana has uncurtained the first looks of Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, and Shreyas Talpade. While Kangana will portray late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Mr. Kher is said to play revolutionary leader J P Narayan. Shreyas Talpade will get in the skin of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mahima Chaudhry will be seen as Indira Gandhi’s confidante Pupul Jayakar.
The movie is based on the emergency crisis that took place in the year 1975 when Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister of India. Emergency is directed by Kangana Ranaut and produced by herself under the banners of her company called Manikarnika Films along with Renu Pitti.
