Tara Sutaria shared her thoughts on the inequality faced by women in Bollywood

Tara Sutaria is gearing up for her upcoming anticipated Ek Villain Returns. Building up her career in Bollywood Tara is a promising actress in the industry. She is busy promoting a forthcoming film with her co-star Arjun Kapoor. She spoke on the inequality in Bollywood that actresses have to face.

The actress belongs to a family where women have been vocal about their say. Commenting on the recent scenario in the industry the actor agreed that the issue began very recently. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla Tara said: “So I have grown up in a household of very strong women, who have opinions, who are in every sense of the word equal and treated with a great deal of respect and love. So I have never understood the concept of inequality.”

Arjun joined her and shared his views. He said: “In this industry, women have had lesser chances to prove their worth, that is the thing. Now there is a bigger opportunity.”

The Marjaavan star further added: “Yes, it’s true in our industry most things aren’t equal. It depends on who you work with of course. And I have experienced it personally, so I can only speak for myself, I can’t speak for anybody else. It is changing for sure.” Although Tara agreed to the change, she believes that the process is too slow. “Slowly, much slower than I think it probably should. If it was the other way around, and if things needed to change for a man it would have been much faster. I can tell you that.”

Tara agreed on the change and difference between men and women in the industry as has herself experienced it. Among other actors who spoke on the issue is Taapsee Pannu who is always vocal about her thoughts. A few days back the Pink actor spoke on pay disparity in the industry. She mentioned that male actors receive a higher salary than female stars.
