Ek Villain Returns Box Office Collection Day 1 In Comparison To Ek Villain

Check out the box office collection of Ek Villian Returns on Day 1 in comparison to the prequel which was released in 2014.

The sequel to Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain has hit the theatres this week. Ek Villain Returns introduces the new cast comprising Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani. The original release, however, starred Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles. Ek Villain Returns hit the theatre on July 29 and recorded a fair opening.

Ek Villain Returns Box Office Collection Day 1:

According to certain reports, Ek Villain Returns has managed to get into the list of top Bollywood openers for this year. It has secured 7th position after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bachchhan Paandey, Prithviraj, Shamshera, Gangubai Kathiawadi and JugJugg Jeeyo.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh told in a tweet that the earnings of Ek Villain Returns on Day 1 were Rs 7.05 cr. He tweeted,  “#EkVillainReturns reaps the benefit of franchise factor, opens better at single screens of mass pockets and Tier-2 centres… Metros – especially national chains – need to gather momentum… Day 2 and 3 crucial… Fri ₹ 7.05 cr. #India biz.”

However, the first-day earnings of Ek Villain Returns are disappointing if we compare them to the first part. Sidharth Malhotra starrer Ek Villain had a huge opening day of Rs 16.50 crore. The sequel has not managed to even record half of its earnings of day 1. Talking about this huge difference, Box Office India said, “Those were different days and the product has not really gone up another level in terms of production values or starcast or the biggest selling point of the first film which was music.”

Ek Villain Returns is jointly produced by T-series and Balaji Telefilms.
