Dulquer Salmaan Will Do More Hindi Films After Chup? Actor Has To Say This

Dulquer Salmaan Opens up on what he likes about Bollywood and whether would he do more Hindi films

Dulquer Salmaan is gearing up for his upcoming film Chup: Revenge of the Artist. With this, he is making a comeback to Hindi Films after 2018 The Zoya Factor. Dulquer is popular down in the south for delivering hits in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The actor has also worked in Bollywood for two films namely, The Zoya Factor and Karwaan.

The actor has garnered positive reviews and praises for his latest release Sita Ramam. Salmaan who appeared sporadically in Hindi films says as an artist he is open to doing projects across languages. The actor likes working in Bollywood because he can experiment as he doesn’t have star baggage here like in Malayalam cinema.

While talking about working more in Hindi films, Salman told PTI, “I’ve grown up watching Hindi cinema and I love the industry. But I want to keep doing unique films and different roles. Because I work in so many languages, I believe every outing should be memorable.”

The 36-year-old actor also said, “I come a little sporadically and there is always a gap. Whenever I do a film in Hindi, I hope it is memorable for the audience. I hope it is a film and a role that they take back home. And I stay in their minds, at least as a good actor.”

The actor said, “I am very open to doing things but if I do work in Hindi, I really want to experiment. I don’t have this star baggage here which I have in the Malayalam industry where there is a lot of weightage given to how my films perform. Here I can experiment with roles and I can be a part of say a multi-starrer. I like that because I feel a bit free when I perform here in Hindi films.”

Talking about Chup, it is a homage to filmmaker Guru Dutt.  Chup: Revenge of the Artist is one of the aspiring projects of the ace director R Balki. The much-awaited edge-of-the-seat thriller will release on 23rd September 2022. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the lead roles. It marks the Bollywood return of south cinema superstar Dulquer to Hindi movies after The Zoya Factor. Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt will make a comeback to films after Blank and Sadak 2 respectively.
