Drishyam 2 trailer was unveiled on Monday afternoon. The film is a sequel to the 2015 film titled Drishyam. Both parts of Hindi films are remakes of Malayalam films in the same name. The case of suspense thriller will reopen next month on 18th November. During the trailer launch of the second part Tabu and Ajay Devgn remembered late director Nishikant Kamat.
The Hindi version of the first part Drishyam was directed by Nishikant Kamat who passed away two years back in 2020. He suffered from cirrhosis due to which he died at the age of 50. The director was admitted to AIG Hospital in Gachibowli, Hyderabad on July 31, 2020. Suffering from chronic liver disease and secondary infections Nishikant left at a young age.
Abhishek Pathak took over directional responsibilities for Drishyam 2. At the trailer launch of Drishyam 2 in Goa, Ajay Devgn first spoke of the late director. He said, “I want to just take this occasion to remember Nishi, who directed the first part. Without him, this wasn’t possible.” Later media asked Ajay about Kamat’s legacy and memories to this the actor couldn’t talk much. He said, “However much I talk about Nishi, it won’t be enough. We all miss him. If he was here, we would have all been very happy. But the show must go on.”
Tabu who also plays a lead in the Drishyam series too recalled Nishikant Kamat. She addressed the media talking about him. “I want to remember Nishi and how easy he made the whole experience of the first part,” she said.
Talking about Drishyam 2, it is a remake of a Malayalam film in the same name. Helmed by Abishek Pathak the suspense thriller is produced under the banners of Panorama Studios. In the second chapter, the cast welcomes Akshaye Khanna as a lawyer. The previous cast including Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Ishita Dutta, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor among others remains the same. Drishyam 2 is scheduled to release on 18th November 2022.
