The first teaser of Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi starrer Double XL was released this morning. Producing banner Tseries gave a glimpse of the protagonist from the comedy-drama sharing a 30secs teaser. Double XL is a slice-of-life comedy film set to release on the 14th of October.
The upcoming movie Double XL pokes fun at boys who body shame. It talks about subjects like obsession with body weight and female body image issues. Double XL has a quirky take on bodyweight stereotypes that have been tormenting for a long time in our society. It is a story of two plus-size women who moved to UK from India and gorgeously flaunt their oversized body that is not usually accepted by society.
Sonakshi Sinha shared the teaser video on her Instagram handle. In the caption, she wrote: From fries to fun..all good things in life come in #DoubleXL sizes! ? A story of friendship and dreams filled with masti is coming to CINEMAS near you on 14th Oct 2022. #DoubleXL #baatmeinWAZANhai” Two days ago she also shared a look of a song Jodi BLOCKBUSTER from the movie. In the song that will be out on 23rd September, she featured with Notebook fame Zaheer Iqbal.
The teaser opens up with Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha sitting on a bench in a foreign city, the latter is seen drinking a milkshake. The two makes a joke about society’s thought in their native accent. Huma starts by saying people manage to find body fat even if a woman wears an oversized loose kurta.
The makers announced the release date of the film by sharing a teaser. Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi underwent a massive body transformation and gained some extra pounds to give life and originality to their characters. The two are joined by Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra.
Double XL is directed by Satramm Ramani and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah, Rajesh Bahl, Ashwin Varde, Saqib Saleem, Huma Qureshi, and Mudassar Aziz. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Wakaoo Films & Mudassar Aziz in association with T-Series Films. The film is a Wakaoo Films, Elemen3 Entertainment & Reclining Seats Cinema Production. Double XL is set to open in cinemas on 14th October 2022.
