Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior won Best Popular Film Award at the National Film Awards. The film delivers the story of Maratha’s warrior Tanhaji fighting against the Mughals which cost him his death. Helmed By Om Raut the film stars Ajay Devgn in the titular role. The film has won three National Film Awards, namely, Best Popular Film, Best Costume Design (Nachiket Barve), and Best Actor (Ajay Devgn).
Om Raut, who directed the film shared a heartfelt message on the film winning 3 national awards. He said, “It is not only the most prestigious award that one can aspire to receive, but also the one that recognises the very best in the field of arts and culture. I am truly blessed and humbled and will use this honour that is bestowed upon me.”
Tanhaji is Om Raut’s first Hindi directorial movie next he is ready for Adipurush. He was elated sharing a picture of him receiving the award from President Draupadi Murmu. He captioned the Instagram post, “A national award is truly special. It is not only the most prestigious award that one can aspire to receive but also the one that recognises the very best in the field of arts and culture. I am truly blessed and humbled and will use this honour, that is bestowed upon me, as a symbol to try harder to entertain everyone for years to come. Om Raut is currently gearing up for his upcoming movie Adipurush. The teaser of the film was released yesterday in Ayodhya. Adipurush is a mythological film based on Ramayana, starring Prabhas as Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Saif Ali Khan as Ravan, and Sunny Singh as Lakshman. Adipurush will release on big screens on January 12, 2023.
