Nikhil Kumar, the director of FNP Media and Fillme Networks Private Ltd’s next short film “The Pill”, shares his experience of directing the film. It stars Tarun Khanna, Romita, and Hitakshi Wadhwa. Nikhil has been in the industry for 13 long years and directed many commercials, NGOs, and government programmes. Speaking about The Pill Nikhil says, “The story was conceived by Mr. Vikaas Gutgutia. I recreated it for the screen for the audience of FNP Media. Keeping the pandemic in mind, the production team planned it really well. We kept our shoot at locations with lesser or no footfalls. We shot with a small crew abiding by all the necessary covid protocols. Before the shoot, we had a script reading session with all my actors and the core team. This preparation not only helped us shoot better but also wrap it up on time.”
So how will you define the trend for short films?”Now is the best time for content creators as well as content consumers. Given the current scenario when most of the content consumption happens through smartphones, the audience is preferring shorter content over the long-format content. To me, short film content is smart content as it has the scope and potential to explore everything and anything interesting in a shorter time, budget, and effort. My team and I had a very nice working experience with FNP Media and we are looking forward to our next association. I hope the audience will enjoy this film just as much as we enjoyed making it.” The film is currently streaming on FNP media’s youtube platform.
