Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is currently gearing up for her upcoming film, “Devara” with RRR actor, Jr NTR. For those unaware, Devara will mark the debut of Janhvi Kapoor in the Telugu film industry. While the actress is currently preparing for her South debut, rumors and reports have surfaced claiming that Janhvi Kapoor was initially offered Vijay Thalapathy’s recently released blockbuster hit film, “GOAT: The Greatest Of All Time”, however, the actress turned down the offer.

Karan Johar Advised Janhvi Kapoor To Reject GOAT And Sign Devara?

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor followed filmmaker Karan Johar’s advice to make her Tollywood debut. A source revealed to the portal that after establishing herself in Bollywood, Kapoor expressed interest in working in the South. Johar, who often provides guidance, suggested she (Janhvi) consider Tollywood.

When Kapoor faced a choice between Tamil superstar Vijay Thalapathy and Telugu star Jr NTR, Johar recommended NTR, highlighting his global fame post-RRR and his impressive talent. Johar believed that NTR’s upcoming film, Devara, would offer a broader audience reach, leading Kapoor to begin her journey in Tollywood, according to the report.

Many reports further suggested that Janhvi turned down Vijay Thalapathy’s “GOAT” due to the minor role of the female lead and decided to star in Devara instead.

The report further revealed that Karan Johar mentioned that Janhvi’s mother, Sridevi, was a Tollywood legend, ensuring Janhvi strong support from Telugu audiences. She quickly secured a major film with Ram Charan, boosting her career before her Telugu debut.

The source told the portal, that Karan Johar observed that Janhvi’s earlier Bollywood roles with lesser-known actors like Rajkumar Rao, Varun Dhawan, and Sunny Kaushal didn’t position her to compete with major stars like Deepika Padukone. However, in Tollywood, she will be collaborating with top actors such as NTR and Ram Charan, which will put her in a strong position to rival leading Telugu actresses like Rashmika, Pooja Hegde, and Tamannaah.

For those unaware, Janhvi is all set to make her Telugu debut with Koratala Siva’s Telugu action film, “Devara”. The film also stars Jr NTR, and Saif Ali Khan.
