Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again released this Diwali, brought exciting new additions to his Cop Universe, including the introduction of Lady Singham, played by Deepika Padukone. This marks a significant shift in Shetty’s films, which have predominantly centered around male cop characters like Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi. Fans are already buzzing about the potential of a standalone film for Lady Singham and in an exclusive interview with News18, Shetty shared insights into the possibility of such a film.
Shetty explained that the decision to introduce Lady Singham took time, mainly due to the need for the right script and the right moment. “The wait was to get the right script and the right kind of launch for the character,” said Shetty. He further added, “Till 2018, I wasn’t even sure if there’s going to be a cop universe.” It was only after the success of Simmba and Sooryavanshi that the idea of creating a female cop character emerged, especially during the making of Sooryavanshi.

We do have a concept in mind, but we don’t know where we can go with it,” he explained. Shetty reassured fans that a Lady Singham film would eventually happen, saying, “A female-led cop film headlined by Lady Singham will definitely happen, otherwise we wouldn’t have introduced her at all.”
