Kabir Khan’s ‘83 has created a lot of buzz prior to its release. The audience is eager to re-live the historic moment of team India lifting the maiden cricket World Cup in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev.
The film has garnered a lot of anticipation because of its first look poster in which we can see many keen actors donning their cricket gears and all ready to live the real life of all the 1983 team members on the big screen. To everyone’s much more excitement, actress Deepika Padukone will be essaying Ranveer Singh’s on-screen wife. For the unversed, Ranveer will be portraying the role of Kapil Dev and Deepika will be playing Romi Dev who is Kapil Dev’s wife.
The question was raised about why Deepika Padukone chose to do the role if the driving force of the movie is the reel cricketers. A source answered the question by saying that it was not the presence of her husband Ranveer Singh’s presence in it but because she has been paid her full market price even for the extended cameo in the film.
The source further added that in essence to her role as extended cameo Deepika is likely to be billed as a guest star in ’83.
Well, the truth remains under wraps but surely everyone is excited to witness the real-life adorable couple to mesmerize the silver screen by their undeniable chemistry.
The film also marks Deepika and Ranveer’s first film together after their marriage.
On the side note, ’83 is slated to release on 10th April 2020.
