Deepika Padukone Says ‘There Will Be A Day When Cannes Will Come To India’

Cannes 2022: Recently during the opening ceremony of the Cannes film festival, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone made her fans and her country proud after she gave an applauding speech during the event.

The actress has served as a jury member of the film festival along with seven other members. The actress delivered an applauding speech at Indian Pavilion Inaugration, as she said, “I feel collectively as a nation, we have the talent, ability. We just need conviction. There will come a day, I truly believe, where India won’t have to be at Cannes, Cannes will be in India”, the actress said.

Another video from the opening ceremony of the judges being introduced to the media gathered on the ground has surfaced as the festival kicks off. A short clip from the judges’ introduction of the Jury Call is going viral, where Deepika Padukone of India is being introduced. In the video of Jury Call or the formal introduction to the jury members shows Deepika Padukone sitting right at the center of the judges’ table, beaming with joy as her name is called out.

India has been named the ‘Country Of Honour’ for ‘Marche du Film’ at Cannes this year and the Indian contingent is led by Anurag Thakur, the Information and Broadcasting Minister. The delegation members included several celebrities like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, AR Rahman, Ricky Kej, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, and R Madhavan.
