Actress Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian actor to star in the campaign of Louis Vuitton, a French fashion house and luxury brand. The 34-year-old actor took Instagram to confirm the collaboration for a photo sharing device.
The actress captioned the post as “I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Louis Vuitton family! To be a part of Nicholas Ghesquière’s vision for the world’s most iconic brand is not only exciting but also very humbling! Presenting… #LVprefall20.”Among million fans the first to express excitement was the actress ‘ husband actor Ranveer Singh, the comment read “Next level !!!”
This year’s campaign is based on pulp horror, as shown in movies and books. The look book boasts 25 poster girls and boys campaign like Deepika, who strike poses as characters in bestseller novel covers. The look book was posted on Instagram by Ghesquiere, artistic director of Louis Vuitton Women’s collections.
Pre-Fall 2020 campaign by Louis Vuitton portrayed the star dressed and stylized in the pre-fall range of the luxury brand. She matched the dress with a grey overcoat, a brand mini belt bag and a pair of quilted green boots. Inspired by classic horror films and books, the campaign shows Padukone posing in front of Don’t Turn Around’s poster, Michelle Gagnon’s fiction thriller.
The actress is been promoting global brands like L’Oréal Paris and Coca-Cola in India. She is the country’s second most successful celebrity endorser holding a brand value of $102.5 million as of 2018, and over 21 brand deals.
